Traveling Around The World

Hello there, I am Zane and this is my world travel blog. Thank you for stopping by! This is initially the result of all my experience while traveling around the world.

I have actually begun this blog site to record specifically the details of our honest travel to different place, far or near.

traveling

I am not an award winning journalist, I just love to take a trip and travel in places I haven’t been. I take a trip with my wife and we will certainly try to entertain you in all of our travel experiences we had. Each place gives a different experience and it’s nice to know that every place we visited gives a different perspective of how people live their life, how they open the door of opportunity and how they embrace their culture.

Hopefully, our stories, advice and tips will assist you in your strategies for your future journeys.

Cheers and happy trips!

Top 10 Stories of Mt. Everest Bodies. Some Just Took a Nap to Rest but They Never Woke up Again.

Top 10 Stories of Mt. Everest Bodies. Some Just Took a Nap to Rest but They Never Woke up Again.

Standing at 8,848 meters above sea level, Mt Everest is listed as the World’s Tallest Mountain. Thousands have already gone to challenge the impossible but sadly not everyone returned home safely. There are a lot of Mt. Everest bodies scattered all around the mountain. The mountain is very perilous, Its tracks are very challenging and there is really no room for newbies out there. (Unless you paid a great amount of money to someone to ensure that you would come back alive!)The authorities in Nepal made that official. Only climbers who are able to go up to 6,500 meters will be granted the license to go up there. Children, old people and disabled are also banned from going up there. Climbing up the top would take weeks. There are 6 parts of the mountain, the base camp, Camp 1 to 4 and then the peak. Most of the death tolls are from Camp 4 and the Summit. According to the data, death is very much common in those who are descending from the summit.

The major cause of deaths here are avalanches and falling. There are too many bodies piled up around Everest that you stepping on them while on your way to the summit is not really that impossible. Here’s a list of the Top 10 Mt. Everest bodies and the cause of their demise. Most of them are because of nature. But others are because to the person’s overall health.

George Mallory, 1924

George Mallory, 1924

George ascended Everest back in 1924 together with Andrew Irvine and a couple more people. Those were the times when there were really few people who even had the guts to go up there. Unfortunately for Mallory, he fell as he got hit by his ice axe. His body was only found in 1999. But his fellow mountaineer Andrew Irvine was never found. It’s thought that their bodies are both on the North East Ridge.

Maurice Wilson, 1934

Maurice Wilson, 1934

Maurice went out there on a solo expedition. He was a British soldier who was also very much enamored by conquering peaks. He died from exhaustion. His body lies in the East Rongbuk Glacier.

Tsewang Paljor, 1996

Tsewang Paljor, 1996

He died at the age of 28. He was a member of the Indo-Tibetan border police. Up there in Everest, climbers referred to him as green boots. He was a very experienced climber and he was in really good shape during his ascend, but alas, nature got to him and the others that were with him. It was in that year that a blizzard covered the mountain, claiming his life with it.

Scott Fischer, 1996

Scott Fischer, 1996

If you have seen the movie Everest, Scott was played by Jake Gyllenhall. He was an experienced mountain guide from the expedition group Mountain Madness. According to record, he died because of High Altitude Cerebral Edema.

Yasuko Namba, 1996

Yasuko Namba, 1996

That year Yasuko Namba conquered the 7 peaks of the World by being able to summit in Everest, however during their descent, the blizzard came sweeping in. She died because of exhaustion and frostbite.

Doug Hansen, 1996

Doug Hansen, 1996

Yet another character from the movie Everest, Mr. Harris was that one climber whom Rob Hall assisted to summit even when it was already time to get down. Climbers have this overwhelming feeling of being able to summit even without considering the risks that they would be facing. Doug died from falling down the cliff.

Rob Hall, 1996

Rob Hall, 1996

Again, from the movie Everest, Rob was a mountain guide. He was from New Zealand and he was the head guide for the expedition group Adventure Consultancy. Unfortunately for his team, a huge number of them died during their descent. Most of the cause of death was frostbite and exhaustion.

Vitor Negrete, 2006

Vitor Negrete, 2006

Vitor was the first Brazilian to summit in Everest. He was also quite popular as among the climbers who didn’t use oxygen for support. He was a very distinguished mountaineer even before reaching the Everest. He died because of exhaustion and is found in the North East Ridge near Camp 3.

Juan Jose Polo Carbaryo

Juan Jose Polo Carbaryo

Carbaryo was a mountaineer from Spain. He was from the 2012 expedition of the Himalayan Guides. Much like most of the climbers Carbaryo also died from exhaustion. He is somewhere near the Eco Everest expedition and he died from a heart attack. His body lies in the Northeast Ridge.

Takashi Ozaki, 2011

Takashi Ozaki, 2011

At 8,400 meters above Sea Level, Takashi Ozaki, a Japanese mountaineer died in 2011. He died from altitude sickness. His body is found near the balcony area.

Although gone were the days when climbers went up because they wanted a sense of fulfillment, or a journey of self discovery, Everest would always have its dangerous feel to it. The bodies alone could paint the picture of how excessively unpredictable life can be. One moment you’re descending, the next moment you’re gone. It is a challenging world out here in Everest,

Most of the accidents that occur here are brought about by the stubbornness of some climbers. It can get pretty expensive to see the highest summit of the world, which is why sadly, some climbers who saw other climbers in need just ignored them to pursue their goal of reaching the top.

So what are your thoughts about this? If you had the chance to go up the Everest, what would you do and say when you get to the summit?

Monsters University

Toy Story

Toy Story

Who wouldn’t know Andy’s Toys?! Woody, Buzz, Mr. Potato, Rex, Slinky? You’re pretty much missing half of your life if you weren’t able to catch Toy Story movies. This movie franchise has already released 3 movies and every each of them has their unique and heartwarming twist to it. And of course, yet another A113 code on the plate number of the car of Andy’s mom.

The Princess and the Frog

The Princess and the Frog

“How’d you get way up there and I got way down here?” After the faithful kiss of Tatiana to the frog turned Prince Naveen, magic went through its course and turned her into a frog too. But before she turned into a frog, you would remember her singing about how she would make her old Daddy’s dream come true. Freeze the frame to the part where she was riding the train and you’d see it all over again.

Finding Nemo

Finding Nemo

Nemo was one bratty little fish that always wanted to prove to his overprotective father that he’s better off without him so he went swimming to the deep. He later regrets this behavior when he got captured by this diver who had this camera that had the A113 inscription.

Wall-E

Wall-E

Humans were shipped to outer space because of the apparent destruction of Earth. Humans boarding the ship were all riding this chair that lets them do basically everything and they become so dependent to technology. During the time when they realized that they need to land back to Earth, the Command code A113 prohibited them from going back here.

Cars

Cars

Everyone adores Mater, you know, the tow truck character who didn’t gave up on McQueen when virtually everyone in the town did? Who wouldn’t love this old and rusty truck, he is the epitome of kindness. He’s also very witty and his accent was a sure plus. One other amazing fact about him is that he also so happen to be a part of the A113 conspiracy theory. Remember his plate number? A113?

Up

Up

Up tells the story of the adventure of an old man to fulfill his wife’s dream to have a house in Angel Falls together with this superbly adorable boy named Russell and a wild bird named Kevin (who was actually a girl!).  Everyone was so touched with the ending, we didn’t quite expect that and we sure didn’t quite expect that it’s also has the code! It was found in the scene where Carl Friedricksen was sitting on the bench awaiting for the court room.

Ratatouille

Ratatouille

Remember Remy, the kitchen genius rat? It’s amazing how they even conceptualized of the movie. Like Rats as chefs? Who does that? Well only Disney does. It is quite gruesome to eat something cooked by a rat right? And even if you’re a character in the movie, we’re pretty sure you would still feel the same about it.  Now apart from the appalling weirdness of their concept, it’s also worth note taking that this movie also had its fair share of the A113 code. Remember that time when the big ol’ city rats were having this meet up? Hit that pause button to see the tag of one of the rats and you’ll see the message again!

A Bug’s Life

A Bug’s Life

Ants are really interesting creatures and in this movie, they were under the spotlight. There were also other storylines but the main focus was to find a way to make the grasshoppers go away. Flik, the hero of the story went out on an adventure to find the lands greatest warriors, while on the way, you can see that there was this carton backdrop that has an A113 mark on it.

The Incredibles

The Incredibles

Super powers, Family struggles and Emotional Maturity, this was what they tried to highlight in the movie. Mr. Incredible had this personal issue that made him feel so in the need to prove his worth to himself. Struggling to find himself, he came across this company that hired him for some super hero stuff. It then turns out that this was all an evil plot by a psychotic anti-hero who hated him because of the encounter they had before. Mr. Incredible was held against his will in Level A1, Cell 13.

A113 also appeared in other movies like the Avengers, Hunger Games, and the Simpsons. Others speculated that this code is part of the Pixar Theory but it’s just the classroom number in California Institute of Arts from where most of the animators of Disney and Pixar graduated.

What about you? What do you think about the mysterious code? Do you believe in the Pixar Theory? Have you even read about it? Tell us what you think!

10 Teddy Bear Dogs that Pose like a Toy Store Display You Would Like to Buy One

10 Teddy Bear Dogs that Pose like a Toy Store Display You Would Like to Buy One

Let’s talk about stereotypes. You hear the word “dog” and what comes to mind are images of strong, long-snouted furry animals that serve as the guard of your house. Their mission is to scare and ditch strangers, and possible burglars away from your home by barking out loud, even furiously. Then, on some days, especially holidays and weekends, you take a dog out in the morning sun as your jogging buddy, because you have no other companion.

That’s the way we used to think of these loyal companions. Some things just don’t stay the way they are. Around 15 years ago, the canine world started to change. Finally, canines don’t have to be the same old kind of dog that simply bark at people by routine to protect its master’s home. Back in 2000, we welcomed the so-called teddy bear dogs in our lives, the utterly adorable, mellow creatures that are so sweet, and affectionate to their masters. Matching their temperament, these cuddly pooches look like quiet giant cotton balls or big cotton candies, or in short – they look like toys. The only difference is that they are alive, and moving in cuteness overload. Ready to see some? Check them out!

Zeus the mini poodle and his froggy pose

Zeus the mini poodle and his froggy pose

Watch his dark, rounded eyes caught by the camera that tell you how much he shows off his cute froggy pose, and he can’t believe you fell for that. Wait, is Zeus even a real poodle, or is he a stuffed toy? Now, it’s giving you quite a confusion. But, of course, Zeus is a real pooch. Just a little sad thing, somebody owns him already. He’s taken, and definitely not for sale. No worries though, his pictures are free to look at.  Go visit his Facebook page and see for yourself how much he likes the camera.

Disguised among look-alikes

Disguised among look-alikes

It seems that this pooch is playing hide and seek with its master. What a witty idea to hide yourself in the open little buddy! Perhaps, at first glance, the master wouldn’t find the real one. But take a closer look. Carefully examine these bunch of five cute teddies on the bed, because one of them is not a toy, but a real dog. Now, you see it with your own eyes? Yes, you are right. It’s right there in the middle, nestled among its look-alikes. Go give the awesome little creature your warmest hugs.

The most girly in pink among lovely teddy bear dogs

The most girly in pink among lovely teddy bear dogs

Calling all girly girl ladies who want to be a pet parent. This one’s a great pet for you if you are longing for that day when you can exercise your best girly grooming and fashion skills to someone else. Why not do it to your teddy bear dog? Cute outfits plus nice ribbons would definitely give your pooch a winning chance in the ultimate pet fashion show. Add more charm to an already eye-catching doggie. When everything’s done and you’re all set, there’s nothing left to do but to do a day-long photoshoot. Hold on. This dog in the picture is really a dog right? Just clearing things up!

“Look, there’s a fountain on my head”

Look, there’s a fountain on my head

Perhaps the owner of this pup perfectly understands how annoying it is to have long bangs that irritate the eyes. That’s why the annoyance led to a fountain on the pup’s head. And bam! It was perfect for a photoshoot. You as an onlooker though, has nothing to do but have a good laugh or a big smile as you watch how much this pup looks like the stuff toy you wanted to buy from the mall. A brilliant idea from this photo? It would be a whole lot better if you take a picture with your pup in matching hairdos.

Teddy finds long lost twinnie

Teddy finds long lost twinnie

So, have you figured out how the story goes between this seemingly identical twins? Finally, they found the way back to each other’s paws. Unfortunately, doggie and the real teddy wouldn’t be able to converse with each other as much as doggie wants to, because the real teddy’s so quiet.

Why you so serious little fella?

Why you so serious little fella

Maybe this pooch got some pretty serious thinking, figuring out why on earth do people continue to call him teddy from the toy store, when the fact is clear to him—the fact that he is born a dog and not a bear. Who wouldn’t think of this pup as a fluffy, huggable bear? He really looks like one. Nobody would deny it. But hey, little fella, stop being sad. We do believe that you are a dog and not a teddy from the store.

Now, here’s what really looks like a teddy bear because of the nicely made costume. What’s up with that style? Go let somebody fall for that prank. Somebody would surely do. Just be quiet though.

Got a teddy that looks like a snowball

Got a teddy that looks like a snowball

As white as a snow, as soft as a cotton ball. This is what and how it feels to cuddle a pup like this. But unlike the cold snow in the winter season, this teddy bear dog will surely give you so much warmth and love.

Come out, real Pomeranian

Oh yes, it’s very difficult to spot the difference. They all look perfectly the same!

He’s got the life-sized living bear

He’s got the life-sized living bear

If there’s a contest on who’s got the best hugging buddy, this guy would probably be the champion. His really huge furry dog deserves to sleep on the bed and deserves to be hugged so tight.

Yes, so much have changed in the wonderful world of dogs. Teddy bear dogs are not just merely companions, but they are your photography’s next top models. Also, the best reason for having them is their great temperament and unique qualities you can’t find in just any other kind of dog.

The Psychotria Elata Plant is More Than Just a Resemblance of Kissable Lips. Here are 10 Reasons Why

the-psychotria-elata-plant-is-more-than-just-a-resemblance-of-kissable-lips-here-are-10-reasons-why

The moment you see the image of Psychotria elata, it will immediately remind you of kissable lips. Hence, they are popularly known as the Hooker’s lips. They look interesting at first glance, but there are a lot of other interesting facts about this plant that will make you bring one home.

They only grow in tropical rain forests

They only grow in tropical rain forests

In as much as you would want to give them as Valentine’s gift, the truth is that it might be difficult for you. They only grow in very delicate weather conditions. They can be found mostly in Central and South American countries like Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador and Panama. They all look like kissable lips, but they come in different shapes and forms too.

They are now endangered.

They are now endangered

Due to uncontrolled deforestation of their natural habitats, it is now difficult to find one. There are a lot of images available for now, and soon they will just be a part of our memory. There are conservation efforts to increase the number of the plant, but it is quite difficult and expensive. In short, they are just kissable for only a while now, before they are gone.

The kissable lips part are not the flowers.

The kissable lips part are not the flowers

You might think that the red part that looks like kissable lips are the flowers of the plant. The truth is they are not. They are just there to attract pollinators including butterflies and hummingbirds. They will be gone in no time. As soon as the flowers are ready to bloom, the red part will wear off. The plant also produces oval berries that can turn either blue or black when they have matured.

They cannot be replicated easily.

They cannot be replicated easily

Some plants that are considered endangered are replicated using certain climatic conditions. However, for Psychotria elata, it might be more than a challenge. The conditions have to be very specific. It must be warm, humid and moist. Otherwise, it will not grow. It should also be placed in a sheltered environment so it won’t be directly exposed to the sun. If not, it will not grow the way it should be.

This plant is common as a Valentine’s gift.

This plant is common as a Valentine’s gift

Despite earning the name Hooker’s lips, they are still considered sweet Valentine’s gifts. If you want to give it to the person you love during special occasions, it is a perfect choice. In Central America, it is common as an expression of love. Sadly, given its dwindling number, it is no longer a popular choice.

It has health benefits too.

It has health benefits too

Aside from used as a gift, it is also considered a healthy plant. The barks and leaves are used for treating skin rashes, ear problems and cough. There are also some tribes in Panama that use it for treating dyspnea. Again, due to its status, it is no longer used for these purposes.

Psychotria has over 2,000 species

Psychotria has over 2,000 species

Although psychotria elata is currently endangered, other members of its families are not. They are well alive with over 2,000 species. Psychotria is among the largest genera of flowering plants. Some others grow in areas outside North and Central America.

Psychotria elata seeds sold online are not to be trusted.

Psychotria elata seeds sold online are not to be trusted

If you wish to have your own psychotria plant at home, you might just want to buy the seeds online and grow them. To begin with, this plant grows only in a very specific weather condition. Furthermore, it cannot be replicated easily. Most of all, they are now considered endangered. Thus, the ones that you will buy online at a low price are most likely of psychotria. If you are lucky to find a legit seed, then you can get it at a very high price. Worse, there is no assurance that it will grow.

Other Psychotria plants can be used as drugs.

Other Psychotria plants can be used as drugs

There are other psychotria plants that have unique characteristics. One of them is psychotria viridis. This contains a psychedelic chemical called dimethyltryptamine (DMT). They also produce white flowers and red berries just like psychotria elata.

It is considered the miracle of nature.

It is considered the miracle of nature.

Given the fact that no other plant has this nature, it is considered a miracle of nature by many people. Add to that its medicinal properties that many locals believe cannot be cured using any other plant. Well, for a plant which many people refer to as Hooker’s lips or Mc Jagger’s lips, being a miracle of nature is not the first thing we immediately have in mind.

The psychotria elata is such a beautiful plant with a very unique quality. The sad part is that it might be gone soon. Therefore, the governments in Central and South America should step in and find a way to preserve this beauty for the future generation. If their natural habitat is deforested even more, then we might not see a glimpse of this plant sooner than we have thought.

Think Gustav Railway Gun was Jaw-Dropping? Wait till you See these 10 Most Interesting Weapons from WWII

think-gustav-railway-gun-was-jaw-dropping-wait-till-you-see-these-10-most-interesting-weapons-from-wwii

The Second World War was also the time when cutting edge, even bizarre weapons became known. Nothing pushes technology forward like a war. World War II gave us modern computing, modern rockets, improved surgery medical care, radar and many other stuff. Not all creations from the World War were quite successful or had such a big impact. Some of the inventions, particularly weapons were simply bizarre. If there were strange weapons, some were really terrifying, especially the huge ones that were actually secret weapons.

Speaking of huge weapons, nothing could be so scary than the humongous Gustav railway gun. The German railway gun weighed 1,344 tons, measured 13 meters high, 47 meters long and 7 meters wide. It is manned by no less than 500 men, needed three days to set up, should be disassembled in order to move and not destroy the tracks. The shells were also massive at 800-mm caliber. However, this railway gun was used briefly. Some described it as a waste of money and effort. Here is a list of other astonishing weapons from World War II.

V3 Cannon

V3 Cannon

Another German supersized cannon, called Vergeltungswaffe 3 or V3 Cannon was one of the weapons used in WWII. Also called England Cannon, the super gun was built in a hill to fire artillery shells from France to London. However, despite its size and presumed power, the V3 was ineffectual, killing only 10 people and wounding 35.

Exploding Rats

Exploding Rats

Probably the most exotic device used during the war was the explosive rat. The collected rodents were skinned, filled with explosive and sewn. They were placed among coal beside boilers. Who would not throw a rat on fire? The unlucky person to throw it would be clueless as it may cause a strong explosion. However, the container where the rats were placed was intercepted by the Germans before the rat explosives were even used. In the end, it was exhibited at German military schools.

Ohka

Ohka

The Ohka or Yokosuka MXY-7 was a Japanese invention. It was a big, manned bomb built for Kamikaze attacks. It was powered by a rocket and guided by a human. US sailors called it Baka, Japanese for idiot. It was carried under a Mitsubishi bomber when target is in close range. The pilot would glide to the target and once closer, would fire three rockets and fly the missile towards the target. Its effectiveness diminished when the Allies learned to attack it, but mind you, it was able to sink a US destroyer.

Soviet Anti-tank Dogs

Soviet Anti-tank Dogs

The anti-tank dogs are desperate measures by the Red Army. Suicide dogs were trained that there is food below tanks. Bombs were strapped the dogs and these were used to fire German opponents. These were very effective, that Germans almost shoot any dog on sight.

Hobart’s Funnies

Hobart’s Funnies

These were unusual vehicles developed by the Allies and named after Percy Hobart, an expert in warfare. These vehicles include the Sherman Crab, the AVRE Bobbin and the AVRE Bridgelayer.

X-Class Midget Submarines

X-Class Midget Submarines

These small submarines could reach up to 2,000 miles and 300-feet deep. They were manned by 4 people and could travel at 6-knots speed. They were planted with mines and released on the hull of the enemy’s ship.

The Goliath

The Goliath

These doodlebugs were remote-controlled carriers for demolition. They were used by the Germans to transport bombs to target. Thousands of these devices were produced, including a bigger version. However, they were hard to control and quite slow.

Herschel Glide Bomb

Herschel Glide Bomb

This guided weapon was effective during the war. It was radio-controlled, with a rocket that fire for 10 seconds then glide to the target. It was able to sink HMS Egret, a British corvette. By the end of the war, however, the Allies figured how to interfere the radio signals that reduced the effectiveness of the device.

Sound Cannon

Sound Cannon

Lastly, the Nazis were good at psychological warfare. They used audio and took a steps further by using sound waves to cause harm. The sound cannon are a range of parabolic reflectors that took the sounds of explosion and create a lethal beam of sound.

Most of these weapons did not quite make it to a wider knowledge of the public. The good thing is that some of them offered ideas in technology to be developed.
